Refreshing Caesar salad with a green salad base typically of romaine lettuce, topped with a mouthwatering dressing, grated Parmesan, and garlic croutons is a delicious start to any meal. It can even be the meal - just add protein like chicken!

How to choose romaine lettuce?
When purchasing romaine lettuce ensure it’s firm and the leaves are tightly closed. If purchasing a mix or greens that is already packaged, check that there are no signs of a rust or brown color.
Are anchovies in Caesar salad?
Anchovies can be found in modern recipes for the dressing of a Caesar salad. The fish provides the dressing a mouthwatering umami flavor.
Is raw egg needed in Caesar salad dressing?
Freshly made and traditional Caesar dressing will call for raw egg. The egg is added to lemon juice which allows it to cook more gently.
